Specs: Windows 2003 server
Having problems accessing my personal folder on my Outlook 2007. My Outlook.pst file is located on my server and every time i try to access it, it tells me that "Outlook.pst is in use and cannot be accessed." I've checked the open file share on my server and verfied that it is not open. But, when i try, to test it, to rename the pst file, it confirms that it is open some how. How do I force it to close through WIndows 2003 server?

That happens sometimes when you lose network connection while Outlook is running that pst file. It's usually not a good idea having the pst file on the server, at least in my opinion. I've had loads of issues with that.

Anyways, there are a tool called scanpst that is located in the windows folder I think, just search for it and you'll find it. That tool is good for all kinds of errors with pst files so try that out.

If you go to the server where your PST file is stored - Check
"Show all hidden files and folders" and delete the one that's clear
"see through" it's a cache created from your main PST file, this
has happened to me with some of my clients.

gl hope that helps =)

I would try this utility. I've used it many times...
