No Incoming Packets - HP server

Microsoft Windows server 2003 enterprise

Specs: Windows Server 2003, Intel Xeon - 2gb ram
I have a hp proliant dl580 g2 rackmount server and a dlink ethernet card. When I try to connect, it shows no incoming packets. I have retried resetting IP and winsock and tried defining new IP but that still doesnt work. Im new at this and I really need help!

What happened to the network card that came with the server?
Have you checked device manager to see if the nic has an exclaimation point next to it?

no card came with the server and the status leds flash and the cabling is fine because I tested it with another computer

Are you able to ping the Loopback? What does the IPCONFIG /ALL show?
