New child domain, cannot logon to administer

Specs: Windows 2003
I recently created a child domain, windows 2003 forest. I am a domain\ent administrator in the parent domain. After the child domain was created I cannot logon to the domain to administer it. I am connected directly to the server,

You're not a domain administrator by virtue of being an enterprise administrator on a child domain. When you created the child domain, you were prompted to create an administrator account for that domain. Use that account to log in and add the enterprise admins group to the domain admins group of that doman. If you don't know the password for that account, then you'll have to reset it. I use the method documented here:

If you forgot the DSRM password, you'll have to reset that too. It's the same as resetting an administrator password on an XP or a Vista desktop. I would use a Vista PE disc or a Bart PE disc, either of which with a password reset utility.
