Specs: Windows Server 2003, 3.19ghz/2G
I have a Silicon Mechanics server running with a raid 5 array. There are 8 drives in the array with 1 being a spare. Server is running Windows Server 2003 standard edition.? The server has 2gb of memory and the processor speed is 3.19ghz.

Where can I find some documentation on adding additional drives to my array.

The server is silicon mechanics

this would be a good start. surprised you missed it in your google seach

BTW you DO NOT want to add any more drives to your raid array. You are already too many drives for raid5. Great you have a hot spare but you lose two drives your array is toast and you are only as good as your last backup.

More drives means more chance of two [or more] failing at the same time.

Might want to go to vegas while your luck is still holding out

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
