Specs: Windows server 2003, 3800/2gB
I have a MS-7309 ver 1.0 MB.I am prepping the server to function as a backup server. I added 2 500 GB HDDs to an existing 500. There are only 2 actual SATA ports on the MB, thus I am using a PCI adapter card to provide an additional 2 ports. The 1st HDD I added installed its own Generic driver normally. The second is detected in the bootup but keeps recieving found new hardware wizard. I have run this and it keeps failing as the wizard can't find the driver. I have reinstalled the chipset drivers, uninstalled the HDD and have it redetected. Plz does anyone have any advice that could lead to a solution? Thanx.

You would load the pci card driver. Doesn't sound like this card is supported under server. Look at the box it came it. What OS's are supported?

I have swapped the HDDs around as well. This PCI adapter card runs its own little script or bootup during the bootup right after the last memory tests etc it detects the HDD eg the display is x.x.o.x.. Thus I don't think its a compatablilty issue. Windows doesn't want to or cannot load the generic driver for the HDD. Do you know of a way to do this manually I'll try anything. Server 2008 Standard Eddition P.S i'll chech the compatability anyway thanx.

Hi I have checked the compatability and it is compatible with the OS. Going to further investigate but am starting to throw my arms in the air.

There are only 3 yellow question marks in device manager now 2 Mass Storage Controller and 1 unknown device. Do you guys think the unknown device is the adapter card? Plz let me know thanx.
