I should disable dvd drive to open my compute

February 17, 2011 at 07:56:58
Specs: Windows Server 2003, Xeon/8GB
When I open my computer, it opens without drives in and it freezes and enter "not responding" situation.
though when I open drives of hard disk from run, they open flawlessly but opening DVD/CD drive even from run freezes the computer.
disabling the CD/DVD Drive from device manager solves the problem.
My OS is windows server 2003 and no burning software has been installed.
Drive is healthy. The problem appeared after I used Regcompact pro.
I know about upper and lower filter registry entries but they don't exist.

You ran a registry program on your server????

Do you have a backup with system state? I would suggest a restore or a reinstall to correct.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

I don't have any. Definitely part of the registry has been corrupted. I don't know which part. If someone inform me about, I can copy it from a healthy windows.
