how to restore a 2003 user

April 4, 2011 at 12:18:22
Specs: Windows Server 2003 R2, Core 2 Duo/4G
I have a user that no longer appears in the Server Management snapin. He does appear in the active directory as a member of users. When he tries to login, he gets a user disabled error. His user had been disabled, but not deleted. We don't delete users.

I am not sure how to rectify this. Any thoughts are appreciated. BTW, I am not a IT guy, I am just the one that owns the business and usually doesn't have IT probs. Thanks.

You would load the active directory users and computer plugin.
You would then browse to the OU containing the user account.
You would go into the user account and select the general tab
You would uncheck the box "account is locked out" [indicating someone tried to access using the wrong password] or you would uncheck account disabled under account options

Thank you.

The option was not on the general tab. This is SBS. Perhaps that is why. It was on the account tab/account settings/scroll down.

Thank you for a very quick reply to a very stupid question!
