Few folder accessible from shared folder

Microsoft Windows server 2003 enterprise
June 29, 2010 at 00:23:23
Specs: Windows XP
I have a folder is shared to all the users but I want its sub folders a1 a2.......only accessible by particular users.

I mean I want a user to access only a particular folder from shared can be a1 or a2 or may be both.....

Is there any kind of setting or configuration available in server 2003...or any policy...Or any vb script available for that.

There is also another thing:

I want to force my users to change their system passwords by particular x no of days. At the x day they must get the box at login to change passwords.

Can anybody show me the ways??

You need to understand that what you see at the local server level does not have to match what is seen at a network access level.

For example, you may see shared with subfolders on the server.

But a network view could be just of the subfolders individually, with each as a separate share.

By understanding this principle you can have three groups, one that sees one subfolder, one that sees another [with no access to any others depending on individual or group assignment] whereas the third group sees them both.

A common mistake is to think about folders nested on the server and applying rights to the nesting but not wanting some rights to flow down. Flatter the directory structure the easier if will be for you to manage.
