Specs: windows 2003
Hi Friends

I have a server tp.bgl.com as the parent. Exchange.tp.bgl.com as the child DC server. Both the servers are windows 2003 R2. Im trying to install exchange 2K3 in the child server. When i do a forest prep in the child im getting the following info.

D:\CMPNENTS\R2\ADPREP>ADPREP.EXE /forestprep
Adprep detected that the logon user is not a member of the following groups: Ent
erprise Admins Group, Schema Admins Group and Exchange.tp.bgl.com\Domain Admins
Group.
[Status/Consequence]
Adprep has stopped without making changes.
[User Action]
Verify the current logged on user is a member of Enterprise Admins group, Schema
Admins group and Exchange.tp.bgl.com\Domain Admins group.

But here the thing is i don't know how to add a user who is Enterprise global Admin and also Local Domain Admin of the child domin Exchange.tp.bgl.com . I tried login into the parent and child but im not seeing Domain Admin group in the member of (Domain admin)informations of Exchange.tp.bgl.com.

Please let me know how to proceed further.

The message says you need to add yourself to the Enterprise Admins group, Schema Admins group and Exchange.tp.bgl.com\Domain Admins group

Perhaps this will help

Is there a reason you want to have Exchange in a child domain? You a huge organization?

Hi Friend

Thanks for your reply. I can understand that message shows that logged in user should have
Local Administrator on the server
Enterprise Administrator
Domain Administrator
Schema Administrator (only required for first install to extend the Schema) .
But im here trying to add one such user to have the above privilages. When i log into the parent domain and create a user , i can add that user as enterprise, domain and schema admin. But when i try to add that user as local admin/domain admin of the child server the child groups are not reflecting in the "member of" of the user created in the parent domain. I tried this from the child server also. So i need to add a user where he has
Local Administrator on the server
Enterprise Administrator
Domain Administrator
Schema Administrator
My Parent domain is tp.bgl.com and child domain is Exchange.tp.bgl.com.

Please let me know if i need to do any other setup to make a user in the parent server who has all the previlages so that i can loggin into the child domain using the same account i created in the parent and install exchange. If there are some other ways ,please tel me.
