Microsoft Windows terminal server 2003 5...
March 8, 2010 at 17:45:56
Specs: Windows Vista
We have a windows 2003 terminal server. For some reason, drives are not being redirected for Vista clients connecting via RDP while Windows XP clients are getting their local drives redirected no probs. The Vista clients are using the RDP client that comes as part of Vista - so I suspect that should be fine.

I am not using a group policy or configuration settings in the term server config app to set this up - simply using the settings in the individual users rdp client itself. Is there something going on with Vista (security settings perhaps) that is preventing drives from being redirected?

Thanks, Brad

If it's printer drivers you're talking about it's usually because there are differences between the drivers on the server and the client.

Download a new driver and change the driver on the client and make sure you install the exact same driver on the server. You don't need to install a printer on the server, just add the driver to the server properties (printer folder > File > Server properties > Drivers > Add).
