DC and ADC issue

Specs: Windows 2003
Dear Everyone,
I am fresh graduate and recently employed with zero experience....please help me sort out the problem.

I have a domain controller with DNS active directory integrated zone configured on the same machine,
I have replicated the DC with DNS to new machine that is now ADC.
problem is that when both DC and ADC machines are switched on at the same time then I get error of 'Domain not available' and also folder sharing is disable during the mean time.

when I shutdown DC or ADC(any one machine) everything goes fine...
can anyone help me how I will make both the DC and ADC running at the same time...

"I have replicated "

exactly how did you do this "replication"?

If you did a hard drive clone you did it wrong.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
How to properly post a question:

off course I have not replicated the hard disk, I have replicated the DC configuration to ADC by first taking the backup of system state of DC and then restoring it to ADC....
but i feel that my issue arises from DNS
