COA valid?

Specs: SBS 2003
I have purchased a server from Ebay which has the SBS 2003 COA key attached, and I have been told it is the original one and is not being used elsewhere.

I am going to borrow some disks to do the installation.

I just wondered if there is a way to check the key is valid and not being used elsewhere?

What would be the implications of using the key if someone else was using it? How quickly would I become aware that it is is use elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for any info!

First, I would make sure the COA looks like the examples here:

http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/...

Then, you can try installing it. When it goes to activate, if it activates you are good. If not... then... well... you get the idea...
