I have changed a server into my domain, it was in other domain and working as DC,
for a some reason, we have to make it as simple server which should be in our DC.
so I have deleted the dcpromo by this command "dcpromo /force.."

it deleted and became normal server. I have set local IP as 192.168.1.24.(Before it was 192.168.6.26). the problem is, when I am trying to take into domain, it showing error that "domain is not exist"
I come to know that still it is not came into our network. if I ping with its old host name (Ex : ABC IP is 192.168.6.26) it showing this old ip with host name. wh

what can I do to take it into my domain with following IP. 192.168.1.24.

thanks in advance

Your post is unclear.

Are you trying to add this demoted DC server to another forest/domain or to the one you took it out of?

Is there a DC on the 192.168.1.x subnet?

After removing a server from AD [and you should check AD as well as event viewer logs that its removed correctly] you need to clean up DNS by removing the host and ptr records for that server.

Hello Wanderer

Yes, There is DC on 192.168.1.x subnet.
and the server which I have deleted the AD, was a DC of 192.168.6.x,
now we are not using this DC for some reason, so wanted to freeup the server for other application use. so I want it to take this server into my domain 192.168.1.x subnet.

now, I have deleted as I post in first question, and set IP manual as 192.168.1.24.(Free IP in my network)

when I try to take into my domain, it should be in my network. but not happening.

If I give manual IP of old DC (192.168.6.x) still its ping and even I ping with its old hostname, it is pinging.

concerning post #3 reread my original post and the bottom part concerning dns cleanup.

What is the exact error when you try to join the domain?
or are you running dcpromo to make it a dc on the x.x.1.x forest?
