Can I add extra disks to a raid5 diskset on the HP Proliant DL360 G5 Server?
The array controller is Smart Array P400i Controller on system board.

Current I have three 146 GB 10K SAS disks on the raidset. I would like to add 2 two more disk (with the same size) to the raidset. I don't need to get more disk space. I just want to make the raidset more reliable. Is it possible to do this? If it possible, how do I go about to do this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Ken

Adding disks does not make the raid set more reliable. Where did that idea come from?
If you don't have a hot spare(s) configured I highly advise you do so. This does make the raid array more reliable since you would now have auto drive failover in case a drive in the raid array goes out.
You would need to lookup the specs for your raid controller to see if they support dynamic raid stripping or stripping on the fly if you wish to add disks.
