Backup or Restore Wizard changes save path

Specs: Windows 7
I'm trying to setup a backup through NTBACKUP. Going through the Wizard, I come to the textbox where you browse for "a place to save your backup:".

So I browse to a network workstation computer called \\Dh8k0h33 and then select a folder on that computer where I want my backups to go, such as \MyStuff. The name of the backup is Total_System_Backup.

When I select okay, the Wizard adds \backup in my path and puts it right before my own directory.

Well, it fails to accept this location because it does not exist. Of course it does not exist! I don't have a \backup\MyStuff directory.

Unfortunately, no matter how many times I try this, it keeps adding the "\backup" just before my directory folder name.

How do I get rid of this behavior?

Can't you edit the "save to" path to remove non-existent folders before proceeding?

If not, create the non-existent folders first to match the default path, then do the backup.

Cannot edit. You have to select your path via browse. Cannot type it in.

I think I know why it is injecting the 'backup' in the path. This happens to be the name of the shared drive. I noticed this when I visited the backup computer (it is at a different location) and pulled up the drives.

Now as to why it won't accept the path I select, well, that's yet to be figured out.
