Adding Std Server 2008 R2 SP1 to SBS 2003 AD w/Exchange

August 24, 2012 at 14:38:14
Specs: Windows Server 2003
I have a Small Business Server 2003 Active Directory with Exchange running Windows 2000 level; Can I add Server 2008 Standard server to my 2003 AD as a Domain Controller or do I have to upgrade to 2008 Active Directory with the (second) 2008 server and will my Exchange continue to function properly?

What I meant was 2000 mix mode versus native mode which you can configure to raise to native mode later. Thanks for the KB article!
