Active Directory removed, Exchange 2003 won't uninstall

Specs: Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2, Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz/640MB
I removed Active Directory to switch over to Novell eDirectory. Personally, I hate Active Directory and find eDirectory much easier to manage. Anyway, I had Microsoft Exchange 2003 installed with Active Directory as well. It was working fine until I removed Active Directory. When I went to remove Exchange 2003, it says it needs the domain controller. However, the entire domain, all users, and all DNS partitions (as well as the domain itself) were erased when I removed Active Directory. I followed Microsoft's Knowledge Base article on this problem, and it did absolutely nothing. It told me to disable the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service, and relaunch Exchange setup. Reinstalling Server 2003 is a last resort, and I definitely don't want to do that. Any suggestions?

If God is phone, then who is door?
