Access Denied opening files on mounted partit

December 7, 2011 at 15:05:58
Specs: Windows 2003, Xeon 2.13 / 2GB
I have a 2003 Server with a network 'Share' which all the users of the domain access. I have a second partition on that same HD called 'Users'. What I've done is mounted the Users partition in an empty folder on \\Server\Share\Users. Users are mapped to the 'Share'. This works great except I'm noticing a strange problem with PDF files. On half the user machines I get an access denied error while trying to open a pdf file. I get this error from Adobe reader not windows. I've gone through my permissions and it is not a permissions error, I've even set folders to everyone full. The problem seems to follow the PC and not the user, meaning I can open pdf's as user-a on pc-a, but i get the error as user-a on pc-b. Can anyone confirm this or give me suggestions to fix this. I've tried reinstalling adobe, it didn't work. Also, all other files behave normally. Thank you!

is the server a DC?
if so are all pcs joined to the domain?
have you reviewed the server and workstation event logs for clues?

The Server is a DC. All pc's are joined to the domain. There is nothing in the event logs. I have determined the reason the problem follows the computer is because of the Adobe Reader version. This is only happening on pc's with Adober Reader 10.1.1. I've tested it with the following older versions and none are affected.

Resolved using Adobe Protected mode although I don't get why it was only the mounted folder.
