2003 Domain Controller and Firewall

Specs: 2003 R2
Hi,

I setup a 2003 R2 Domain controller but the DHCP service is not automatically added to the firewall, is this normal? I have tried re-installing the OS to start from scratch but same scenario. I find it hard to believe that the wizard does not do this automatically. Also, when I have made edits to the Default Domain Policy it is not progated to other machines connecting to the Domain which again is a Firewall issue because its fine when it is disabled. How are the Policies transfered? do I need to open another port in the Firewall to achieve this?

Thanks,

Luke

DHCP uses UDP ports 67 and 68.
You have to edit your firewall settings.

Thanks paulsep. What about the Default Domain Policy? It is not being propagated to any Domain Members unless the firewall is disabled. In addition, should the changes to the Default Domain Policy also affect the Domain Controller they are set on? I am correct in thinking you must configure the Domain Controller independently of the Domain Policy?

Thanks,

Luke
