xp client in workgroup can't see w2000 domain

Specs: Windows XP
xp client within workgroup can't see win 2003 domain within active directory. How can I make the domain viewable while still in the workgroup?

Well the whole point of a domain is to ensure that computers and users are authorized to use its resources. That's not going to happen if the computer doesn't join the domain and the user logs on as a member of that domain. It wouldn't be very secure otherwise, would it?

Maybe I did not communicate the issue correctly. I can't see the domain via "network places" . I would expect that a domain with a DC as Domain master browser would be communicating his resources to the master browser on my workgroup subnet so that I could atleast view the domain. I don't actually have to logon , but just be able to see it. Hopefully , I've explained it better now.

Normally you would expect the domain to appear in network neighborhood. could be DNS problem on xp - so its not translating names. Can you access the domain machines directly from run box - \\domainmachinename? and if not how about by ip address - \\domainmachineipaddress.
