I would run a compact of the pst file. Then create a new pst file and set the new one as your Mail Delivery file.

You don't have to repair the file unless it's corrupt. It would help if you would tell us what the error is. I'd start with a compact of the file.

In outlook 2002 user can't save pst file over 2Gb. so they have to split their files into small units. if your pst files gets exceeds from 2Gb than use Microsoft Outlook 2007 PST Repair software to perform split operation. with this software you can divides files on the basis of mails, date and size.
