when i try to play dvds box comes up saying failed due to a problem with the video sub system.
I noticed that you run of windows 2000 so your computer is probably pretty old. Check your disk drive and make sure that it is a dvd drive not a cd drive. If it is a cd drive buy one like this (below) and get a guy at a computer shop to install it for you.
Maybe list specifications of hardware, so a better response may be forthcoming ? Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
Also list what player you are attempting to use.
