Specs: Windows 2000
I have windows 2000 and when I try to boot up I get a blue screen , what I am trying to do is to set-up my d drive to become my boot drive. I have a lot of data in my d drive and it is asking me to partition the drive. will I loose all of my existing data?

Quite possibly.

Simple rule:

Always backup your data before doing anything with partitioning.

Is your d drive a physical drive or a partition?
I would recommend to download and burn a linux live cd, to see, whether you can access the d drive and copy the files to a secure place (USB drive or something like that).
