display hasnt come..when i switch on the monitor and cpu..

Specs: Windows 2000, 1gb
i am using windows 2000 pro, Intel mb with 1 GB ram, if i switch on my computer, fan is running but display didn't come..i tried with some other monitors.. same problem.. hard disc not a problem i checked with other system its working...

First try a different VGA cable to the monitor.

If that makes no difference, the graphics card has probably failed so you'll need to fit a new one.

The graphics card is inside the PC case where the monitor's VGA cable plugs into it.

The hard drive has nothing to do with the display. The problem is either the monitor (which it appears you've ruled out), or the graphics card (or onboard video) isn't sending a signal. However, that doesn't necessarily mean the graphics are bad - it could be the CPU, motherboard, or power supply. You haven't provided enough info to diagnose the problem.
