Specs: Windows 2000 Pro, ?/2 GB
I loaded w2k pro on a Dell Optiplex desktop unit. It is missing Ethernet and PCI drivers. I cannot find them on the Dell or MS site. I have done a lot of searching on the internet and cannot locate a straight download or update. Please accept my appreciation and gratitude in advance. Thank you.

all of the results listed on th esite tell me that they are locked and I need to make a new post. Anyone have any idea on how or where to find Ethernet and PCI drivers for Win2000 Pro?

How do you expect to get help if you don't post the model number of your Optiplex?

Or better yet, the "Service Tag Number"? Look on a sticker somewhere on the case.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. That was a very 'user' like mistake. The model of the desktop unit is a Dell Optiplex GX270.

The Service Tag Number will lead us to the correct drivers for your Dell. It's the safest way in case Dell used different hardware on some of the GX270's.

Mavis007- Thanks so much for your reply. My apologies for the tardy response, I did use that link and it did provide the correct network drivers as well as PCI drivers. I am still having issues with the video despite loading the proper drivers in the proper order. I believe that my w2k disk may be damaged, I'll work on it. None the less, I am on the internet with my IE6 and Firefox now. Thanks again, I really mean it!

If Win2000 came pre-loaded on your Dell Optiplex GX270 computer (if Win2k pro is an OEM version), you may want to order the Dell System Recovery CDs from them for your model.

As for Win2k service packs, download SP4 and install the KB891861 v2 update rollup 1 pack.

Thank you for the additional input. I suppose I should get the system recovery disk. The unit was a company purchase of upgraded equipment that came without an OS. The company wiped the drives before selling them. I wonder if that has anything to do with my issues. Anywho, thanks again. You guys have been GREAT!
