Specs: Microsoft Windows XP, 3.333 GHz / 1023 MB
Internet Explorer 8 cant be used on Windows 9x & 2000 Pro (I use XP as well) And IE 6 is outdated, too slow, etc. But I want a browser which saves temp internet files just like IE does so I can save flv files & also look at internet addresses I had already visited. Firefox, Opera, etc only save temp files in their caches.

I know there are browsers which use the IE engine but are no better if IE 6 is the highest version.

In other words, are there any browsers which just as powerful as IE 8, saves temp files like IE does?

IE uses Trident engine. You can try Maxthon which also uses the Trident engine, but no guarantees that it will behave just like IE.

Maxthon 3.0

Your specs above say XP but you're posting in the Windows 2000 forum. If it is indeed 2000 then you might need an old version of Maxthon.

Is there a reason you must use a Trident browser?

IE 6 for Windows 2000 is outdated (especially I hate the fact there are no tabs!), and the latest versions of Firefox (5.0) and Opera (11) both are supported under Windows 2000.
