Solved Windows media player cannot burn some of the files....

February 24, 2017 at 23:37:03
Specs: Windows 10
I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, and ever since I updated from win 8.1 to win 10, I have had a problem burning a CD in win media player. Only two days ago, I managed to burn a CD with no problem, but I left it in my car, so I decided to burn another one. Now I'm getting the message 'windows media player cannot burn some of the files' etc. There is no icon, next to the song, that I have already managed to burn very successfully, just two days ago!
There has already been a thread on this, but I can't post in it because it's from last year. Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? thank you!

Try CD Burner XP. It's free, no adds, no spyware and works great. It will let you burn all sorts of audio formats as an audio disc.

Use third-party burning software instead of using WMP.

I agree with phil22. Stop using WMP. I suggest you download & install VLC Player for listening to music or viewing videos, & CDBurnerXP for burning discs. Both programs are 100% free & supported in Windows 10.

Thank you for your replies.
I'm going to download something else, like you suggest, as it's become very frustrating.
And to add to my frustration, half an hour ago, I thought I'd have another go and try again and it worked. No messages came up, nothing, it just burned the CD lol.
Thanks again!

... and don't worry about not posting in that old thread. It is far better to start a new thread the way you did. No two problems are ever alike and new threads arrive at the top of the list and get noticed.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I've gotten that WMP error message too, many times. I click OK, and try again. And then repeat as necessary...and at some point WMP will copy without problems. But what a PITA! I too am going to install CD Burner XP and use that from now on...so thanks for that!
