Solved Windows 10 Spell Check not Working

January 18, 2016 at 15:28:12
Specs: Windows 10
Spell check doesn't work for me either. In notepad, word, typing in any field box, nothing.
It worked at one point, it must have been an update. Can anyone help get spell check back and is there anyway not to update? I use Google Chrome not IE

Derek, seems it does since Win 8 and it may be the answer to the OP problem.

Apparently, it is available across all apps.

Or maybe the recent Windows 10 cumulative update somehow has turned off (we will never know for sure) the builtin Spell Check.
Try re-enable it following this Tutorial.

Am I missing something?
I've never heard of spell checking in "Notepad", any Windows version.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Oh. I'll now have to work out why spell check doesn't work in NotePad on my Win 10 - it didn't in Win 8 or 8.1 either. It's switched on.

Just as well I now have three with Win 10 so I can compare notes.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Didn't any luck with mine in NotePad (tried two with Win7 to 10 upgrades) but I didn't pursue it as vigorously as I might have done because spell check would be about the last thing I wanted in batch files or similar.

Maybe if you applied all the fixes, including the reg files, then restarted the computer you might sort it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
