Solved Windows 10 media creation tool problem

May 24, 2016 at 15:14:59
Specs: Windows 10, Intel i5, 8gb ram
I downloaded the windows 10 installer on a USB stick and I tried to boot from it, everything went well until it said I cannot use the USB to download the files from, because it was in the wrong format. I quit the installation and went to my other computer changed the format of the drive to NTFS, but it deleted everything. So I start to download the windows installation too again, but it says there was a problem and it doesn't know why, and that my computer cannot do the installation for some reason. If there is any way I could fix this, please help.

I haven't tried downloading the installer so I don't know what format it's in but are you sure you downloaded installer files and not an ISO file which would need to be extracted and burned to a disk or drive using something like ImageBurn?

Posting the exact error messages would help also.

I am sure I am not downloading the iso file, and when I tried the first time my PC did recognize that it was a Windows boot drive

Can you post the exact error message you are seeing.

Trying using a different USB stick. it sounds like it may be bad.

Never mind, I fixed the problem. What I did was that I downloaded a iso win 10 file from internet and used a program called universal USB installer. With that I reinstalled the iso file and it worked.
