Windows 10 hangs and freezes randomly

February 22, 2016 at 11:13:33
Specs: Windows 10, i7 3770k and Gskill 2x8GB 1866Mhz
I have been experiencing freezing and hanging for a long time. Since Windows 8. I'm not sure if it's something that could be fixed within the software side of if it's a BIOS setting, compatibility or ultimately hardware failure.

I have already tested every single component doing tons of stress tests so I don't think it's hardware to be honest. I have set BIOS to default, re-installed windows several times. No yellow mark in the device manager.
Administrative events show nothing before the time of the crash.

It happens while using the PC and also when the machine is sleeping. It doesnt hibernate.

Really dont know whats up with this machine.

Here are the parts:

asus p8z77-m
samsung 850 1tb
gskill 2x8gb 1866mhz
seasonic 850w PSU
amd 7970 vapor-x 3gb
i7 3770k

Thanks!

"Really dont know whats up with this machine"

I can check these logs for clues.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt)
The logs are large, upload them using Zippy ( No account/registration needed ) or upload to a site of your choosing. Give us the links please.

Hey Johnw! All right there you go:

http://www107.zippyshare.com/v/R7vk...
http://www107.zippyshare.com/v/UIZU...

By the way, Event Viewer registered this event:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
The previous system shutdown at 06:06:46 on ‎22/‎02/‎2016 was unexpected.

The errors I got immediately before that were these, which all happened around 10PM on 21/02/2016:

Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) failed. The first DWORD in the Data section contains the error code.
The performance strings in the Performance registry value is corrupted when process Performance extension counter provider. The BaseIndex value from the Performance registry is the first DWORD in the Data section, LastCounter value is the second DWORD in the Data section, and LastHelp value is the third DWORD in the Data section.

Same thing here:

The previous system shutdown at 16:12:10 on ‎21/‎02/‎2016 was unexpected.

And before, 10AM, same day:

Details:

Thank you in advance!

Hey Jhon! Oh lord, Australia, guess our communication will be a bit problematic as far as timing goes, I'm in Brazil. haha

I have no minidump folder at all nor .dmp files.

Also ran the repair tool twice. Let me know if you need any log.

"guess our communication will be a bit problematic as far as timing goes"
13 hours behind us, if I have the right zone.

A singer, in one of the singing groups I'm in, bought a 20 year old visitor from Brazil to singing last week.
Her name is Ursula, you never know, it's a small world, you may know of an Ursula traveling in Australia.

"I have no minidump folder at all nor .dmp files"
Reread my instructions in post #3, just in case you missed them.

I will now wait to hear how your comp is behaving.

Haha Ursula I know some Ursulas but none of them are singers.

Yes I read the instruction but still no minidump. The settings are all correct to create a minidump though.

Okay so I come back here if I experience another hang?

"Also ran the repair tool twice"
Perfect.
"Let me know if you need any log"
Not at this point.
"Okay so I come back here if I experience another hang?"
Yep, testing time, your comp should now be back to normal as far as software goes, lets see how your hardware performs.

If you do get more issues, test in Safe mode with Networking.

Okay, but you think the software was corrupt in some way from what you saw?

And about testing in Safe mode, I don't think that will be fruitful in my case. These hangs are so random that it can go days, weeks or event a whole month without nothing happening at all. I wouldn't be able to use the machine the way a usually do in safe mode for that long...What do you think?

"but you think the software was corrupt in some way from what you saw?"
Process of elimination, your Farbar logs are pretty clean, now I have record.

Your info about errors, is why I need the minidump, so now you have set it up, if & when you get any problems, you should get a dump.

Yep, forget about Safe mode for now, use your discretion if you think you need to use it.
