Run ADWCleaner from Malwarebytes:
https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/...
Run Malwarebytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-do...
Remove all they find.
Check Add/Remove programs for programs never used, Google any you are not sure about. Remove the junk.
Check Start Up Programs (those that start with Windows). Remove them from the list or go to the program's settings and uncheck Start with Windows.
Some like running CCLeaner to remove junk which also has a Manage Start Up Tab which may be useful and easier for this. Run its normal scan for junk and then manage the start up programs.
https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner?s...
If not completely 'back to normal' then post the logs from ADWCleaner and Malwarebytes (copy paste into separate replies) for review and further help.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Just to say that unwanted files will not slow the boot unless they are running in the background (see Task Manager).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I would still run the two small programs suggested at #1 because they often unearth malware that AV's miss. This probably why they were suggested. They don't have to be kept on board afterwards unless you wish to.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
