Hello to all,
Last week I came across 2 laptops which couldn't connect to the Internet either with cable or with WiFi. One laptop was brought from another network where it had had no problem connecting, but when the network changed it showed "Limited Connectivity Problem" (I believe it couldn't get an IP). I think Win 8.1/10 "lock" on the first network settings they find and when the network changes there is no connectivity.
Anyway, the other laptop was upgraded from Win 8.1 (never changed network) but couldn't connect too showing the same message on the right side of the tray...
I did a little research and found that people had that same problem in July and August (2015).
The thing is the answers varied a lot !!! From firewall settings and update rollbacks to using older driver versions etc.
I couldn't find a step by step solution as what to check.
I did found this netsch solution:
but where does it fit in the whole examination process?

On the one that came from a different network you should check to see if it has a static IP assigned. If so set it back to DHCP. The one that was upgraded you should check to make sure your network driver is installed.
