Why won't my large zip file created on a PC open on a mac?

Microsoft Outlook 2010 software

Specs: Windows 10, 9900k/24GB
When I create a large zip file (over 2GB) on my PC (windows 10) Mac users can never open those files. They get some extract error (can't remember the exact error) The only way it works is if they use winzip on their mac. Why is this happening? Is there a way around having them download a 3rd party program?

Most people don't realize that it is the words you use in Google that find the hidden things others miss. Not a sentence, just a few key words.

Too true, you don't "speak" to Google you put down the words you think will most likely unearth the answer.

If you ever did any programming, even in school back in the 1970's you begin thinking a little like a computer (and a search engine is just a computer program) and that makes it easier in my opinion. Works for me.

Yes, thinking like a computer is another way to put it. As for programing I doubt my stab at BASIC really counts LOL.

Fortran and assembly language in high school (IBM1130) and Plago/PL1 at Poly Tech (Brooklyn). Didn't touch a computer again until W95.

IBM1130 - interesting machine. IM for the OS, not bad eh.

I remember being paid on an IBM750 tubes machine. It was pretty ancient then.
