Specs: Windows 10
Why do I not hear sound through my speakers when digitizing vinyl records using Roxio Creator?
I have Windows 10. I hear sound fine on Pandora, etc. I have run Windows and HP troubleshooter routines but the did not fix problem.

Have you had hunt through Roxio suport are for your product?

I dun a brief look-see - there are about 350+) hits in their support area re' sound issues. This is one of them - which may not be specific to your product but might nonetheless suggest a few places to check?

Presumably you are managing to digitise/record etc OK - but can't hear anything during the process?

You are correct. I can digitize the record and I can play back the recording through my speakers but I hear nothing while recording.

I had an extensive reply from Corel tech support detailing the extensive changes I needed to make to my Windows registry to solve my problem. IT DIDN'T WORK!

I don't use Roxio or other similar applications; partly as I'm on Mac systems and partly as I have no need of them; other than that I use audacity for any audio recording; be it fo web sources - or imported via usb adapters. The latter allows vinyl imports as well as just about any other source...; and have a wide choice of formats to create/save. Once the file(s) exist they can be burnt to cd/dvd using all manner of freebie apps. from what I read here.

Also audacity has an option in its setting to allow software pass through of incoming audio (s o you can monitor). Is there a similar option in Roxio and which may actually be set/defaulted not to allow that (which I think s what audacity does as well)?

Following on from my above:

M$-land offer a free version CD burner app; which does all you need - if you were to use audacity (which is freeware - although they do appreciate a wee donation...).to import vinyl etc to your computer; and then burn - not using Roxio at all?

and there are few others too:
