Solved Why is my computer shutting off at random times? (Story)

October 24, 2017 at 19:06:49
Specs: Windows 10, Idk CPU/4GB RAM
(I'm putting this into story form so maybe you can understand better)
"One day, Tom was playing Geometry Dash on his computer... he was making an amazing art level, with touches here and there... then, all of a sudden he said,
'Maybe I should save my work so I don't lose it...'
but then, without warning, before he could do ANYTHING, his computer got a black screen INSTANTLY and the lights on his computer turned off! His computer had shut off! Talk about bad luck! He then said,
"WHAT!!! Why did my computer just shut off like that, all of a sudden black screen! Now I'll have to restart ALL my work, and I worked so hard! I'll probably never get THAT done again!!' anyways, he went on and played another game..."
"The next Thursday, Tom went home and said,
'Gee, what a day! that was the hardest math test we've ever had! good thing I'm REALLY good at math...'
he was walking in his door when he thought, *'Hmm, maybe I'll play some terrar-'*
'Hi, Tom!' His mother interrupted his thoughts. 'How was your day today?'
'Nothing much, we had the hardest math quiz in the WHOLE school year! I had to answer like 136.37843e+48 / (325.78342e+378[2] + 89.4e+45) - (-77.84e+673 / 83)!!' Tom said.
'Is that so?' Molly, Toms mother said.
'Yeah, and that was only the fourth question! It only gets harder from there...'
'Wow... that must of been tough! I can't wait to see your grades!! I bet there FANTASTIC!!!' Molly said.
'I hope...' Tom whispered.
'Remember what we had agreed, Tom. At LEAST an A- on every end-of-year test, and you get one of those nice, fancy, Alienware computers with a titan graphic thingamabobber!!' Molly said.
'I know...' Tom whispers.
*'Anyways, off to my computer to play Terraria!'* Tom thought.
'Bye, mom! I'm going to my room now to play.' Tom said.
'Alright, sweetie!' His mother said.
Tom walked to his room and booted up his computer.
'Gosh, this thing is SOOO old!!' He said.
'At least it can run Terraria...' He whispered.
Tom waited for 8 minutes this time because of a memory problem with music that he needs to update his Terraria plugin to fix, but he does not know how..." (Another question?? How to download TModLoader v0.10.1.0 help pls)
anyways, back to the story!
"And finally, Toms game loads up.
'Finally, that felt like a week! In school!!' Tom said.
He eventually went into a boss battle and his computer, despite him being VERY close to finishing, SHUT OFF AGAIN!!!!
'I need to find out what's making this happen...'
Eventually Tom figured out that his computer was too old... Because it was 4 YEARS OLD!!!!!
and that was what was causing all of the crashes, FPS problems, and more. he hasn't gotten a new computer yet, but soon, children, soon...
___The End.__
Based off of a true story.
(Of course this didn't ACTUALLY happen! Our Tom isn't even REAL. I just decided to this cuz I wanted to have fun and I could of been gaming but now I have little time to play... COME ON!
Whatever, I had fun doing this, and I would appreciate answers. [I know at the end it says he found the problem but I don't know if it is or not. I hope there is another way before Christmas... not playing videogames for 2 months will make me go INSANE. COMPLETELY!!! I'll be the most secure inf- [idk the word xd] at the insanity place! [again, forgot the word...] Anyways, thank you very much for reading, and, goodbye.) :D
(I would also like some help with the second question pls)

For those of us who have busy lives but would still like to help can you concisely explain what troubles you are having with the computer? Just a few lines would be fine - thanks.

In the meantime run these to check for malware which can cause all sorts of issues (they often find what antivirus programs miss):

AdwCleaner:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcle...
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Clean" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
https://www.malwarebytes.com/junkwa...
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

MalwareBytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
(use the "Free Download" button rather than the "Buy Now" button).
After the install go to "Settings > Protection". Under Scan Options move the "Scan for rootkits" slider over to On and Run the Threat Scan. Quarantine anything it finds.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Sorry, I'm not going to waste my time reading your story. If you have a question, ask it directly. And include the make/model of your computer, complete system specs, & which OS you're running.

I agree with rider, no one wants to hear a long drawn out story that has nothing to do with the problem you are having. Condense the issues you are having into consice sentences.

Well just add it as a response. Did you run the suggested programs and if so did they find anything?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Faulty PSU perhaps?
Also RAM issues may instantly crash your PC
