Why does my laptop start too lag after a couple minuts?

March 20, 2017 at 05:57:45
Specs: Windows 10, Intel I-5 5200-U/ 8GB RAM
Once I start my computer up it's operating very quick. After about 1 minut things such as: opening files, Loading pages and Music (starts to lagg). I've searched on google for what could be the cause. I have seen someone on this website with a similar issue (although I think it is similar) and his issue got fixed so I hope any of you is wise enough too fix it. I'm not really well known with computers overall, do know some basics (thought this would be useful to note).

Specs of my laptop:
Intel I5 5200-U
8GB RAM
1TB Harddrive + 128 GB Solidstatedrive
950M Nvidea GPU

Realtemp:
Average load on cpu with/without using applications 24-100%
Temperatures CPU - 34-54 degrees Of which 54 is after using it for a while

System Idle:
Varies from 60-90%

Post that I believe is similar: https://www.computing.net/answers/w...

I hope I gave enough information and that there's anybody able too help me.

Is this a new problem?

Manually look in the Update page & see if downloads are occurring.

You haven't answered this question.
Have you checked to see if it is in the process of downloading W10 updates?

Check Task Manager to see what processes are using CPU. Post what you find in your reply.
Run these programs to make sure you are free of malware (clipped and pasted from a prior reply from Derek since he already stated it clearly):
These three small freebies often find what anti-virus programs miss. Run them in the order given:

AdwCleaner:
https://toolslib.net/downloads/view...
(blue "Download Now" button on right).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Clean" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
https://www.malwarebytes.org/junkwa...
(blue Download button).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

MalwareBytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
(use the "download" button rather than the "buy" button).
Install and Run the program but before running the Scan go to "Settings > Detection and Protection" and put a checkmark in "Scan for rootkits". Quarantine anything it finds.

Please copy/paste all the logs on here.

To access the logs in Malwarebytes, open it, go to History at the top then Application Logs at the left. Put a check mark in the latest "Scan log" and Export it to a txt file.

You can also run Ccleaner to clean out junk build up and manage programs at start up which can be very important.

Uninstall any program you can confirm that you did not purposefully install and is not needed (Google or ask if not sure about any).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

#5, Did you also make use of the program (Ccleaner) to manage your start up options to eliminate most programs from starting with Windows?

Okay Fingers, I ran all those programs on my laptop. Took ages as downloading all already took 1 hour+. I just did eliminate most of the programs that start with Windows with CCleaner. And I ran the software you listed. Still having the same laggs. Here are the results from Malwarebytes and Junkrat.

The log from Adwcleaner somehow got removed as it wanted me to restart the PC. I clicked save but it restarted before I could save the log files. After that the program started(once pc was started again) and closed when I wanted to click it.

(end)

"The log from Adwcleaner somehow got removed as it wanted me to restart the PC"
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner [C1 or later].txt as well.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt)
The logs are large, upload them using one of these. No account/registration needed. Give us the links please.

Fingers, I've got a question. Is re-installing Windows 10 also an option too slove this issue?

New Windows 10 machines should be shipped with a factory restore that should wipe the main drive and reinstall it as new, same as Windows 7 does. Windows 10 also has a reset feature that should set Windows back to mainly factory defaults without disturbing your files or programs (as I understand it) but I use Windows 10 only at work so far and are not as completely up on the details on it yet. If you decide to do either of these please get more details and PLEASE back up anything important first to an external drive.

If you give JohnW a chance he will help you remove any possible infection and then restore/repair your Windows installation with you. I could give you a link (in fact I will add it at the bottom here) that will do a Repair of the Windows System Files but it would be best to make sure that any infections are cleared out first.

Link: http://www.tweaking.com/
Ignore the big green Download button (FAKE!) and look under the latest Release number for a link that starts with www.tweaking.... and use that. Install it, follow all recommended pre-scan steps and then restart in Safe Mode for the actual scan and repair. Be patient because it take a while but it can do wonders.
