why does msn keep reverting to binary numbers?

September 9, 2019 at 08:13:52
Specs: Windows 10
In Explorer, MSN homepage frequently changes to binary, therefore unable to read anything and have to restart the entire system. Can't just close and reopen Explorer. On a few occasions MSN homepage opened in binary and had to restart entire system.

Are you using Edge or Internet Explorer? What happens if you try another browser such as Firefox?

I somehow doubt it is actually binary you see but I get the general idea.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Run these:
ADWCleaner from Malwarebytes (free)
Then:
Malwarebytes (free version)
Remove all they find.
Copy/Paste the contents of the logs here in separate replies for review.

It is most likely an infection.

clean out browsing history, cookies, etc.

Manually run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest version of your browser.

Consider changing to Firefox, it is much better than IE and even Edge. Edge is better than IE though but it has its challenges.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

First thing to try: what happens in another browser ? ( The question implies, another browser from another vendor. )

Yep, already suggested in #1. Why do you say "The question implies, another browser from another vendor"
