There are 3 ways to start Google Earth.

1. Start Google Earth in DirectX mode
2. Start Google Earth in OpenGL Mode
3. Start Google Earth.

Try starting it using DirectX mode. If that doesn't work, try starting it in OpenGL mode and see i it will launch.

List your system specs.
Close other open programs.
Uninstall programs you never use.
Do a Disk Clean Up. Choose nearly all.
Clear your browser history, etc.
Check Task Manager to see what programs might be using a lot of CPU in the background.
Run Malwarebytes and remove anything it finds.
Post back results including copy/paste report from Malwarebytes.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I'm tempted say that it freezes when you open it because likely it's way too cold where you... But that wouldn't be of any help - so I won't

Fingers has started you the right path to solving the problem...

Run this too as it is focussed on browser malware, which is possible:

AdwCleaner:
https://toolslib.net/downloads/view...
(blue "Download Now" button on right).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Clean" button.

Please copy/paste that log on here too. If you lose the ADW log you can find it as a text file in the ADWCleaner folder directly off the system drive root (usually C).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
