Specs: Windows 10, 8gb
When I shut down my PC running Windows 10 it automatically powers up again. I don't do anything, just shut it down or put it to sleep then walk away. Any ideas?

Go into Device Manager, scroll down to Keyboards, under that listing right click on your keyboard and click on Properties. Click on the Power Management tab and remove the checkmark from "Allow this device to wake up the computer".

Do the same for your mouse and any other peripherals that are connected to your computer such as a gaming keyboard, etc.

THX,

Why the keyboard in particular? If you are going to wake up
the computer from sleep mode, and only have one means of
doing so, it would be by pressing a key on the keyboard.
This assumes, of course, that you do not have a cat. But if
the OP had a cat, I'm sure he would have said so.

Disabling the mouse makes much more sense. Mice tend to
wander around on their own, while keys do not tend to press
themselves without outside help.

Most significantly, disable waking on network activity. That
seems the most likely culprit, if the OP doesn't have a cat.

But if the PC actually wakes up from a power-off state, rather
than sleep, that is something beyond my experience. I have
never had a zombie computer.

One the occasions I have mouses wandering about... they've generally stayed within the larder area and well away from my keyboards etc.. That is until I persuade them to enter (one way) free food source facilities, and then transport them to the local common; where they can roam and wander safely as much as they please. They're usually field mouses which come into the warmth (if they can) as winter approaches...; but are quite able to survive outdoors, as they're really quite hardy and clever when it comes down to it all.

Moggies on the other hand - simply adore both keyboards and mouses... ; especially if one is using them at the time... or they're just simply bored and looking for something to play with at whatever time of day/night.

But if the OP had a cat, I'm sure he would have said so.

Why would he divulge that information if he doesn't know about the wake with keyboard or mouse options?

I have a cat and yes that is an issue I've had to deal with so that is why I mentioned it.
