Solved What does attrib +h C:\ system.sav /s /d do in Win10?

Specs: Windows X
What is attrib +h C:\ system.sav /s /d ? This window just popped up around 24 hours after completing upgrade to Windows X.

system.sav is a folder usually found on HP computers and the DOS command you saw is not suspicious.

The computer was evidently downloading some updates for Windows Defender at the time among two other updates. It must have triggered it. I have since scanned the drive without any suspicious items showing up.

Thank you for the swift response. I thought the system save might have something to do with a restore point, and I was curious about it.

Why does a black box with a blinking cursor inside and a title at the top margin of the box saying "attrib +h C:\system.sav /s /d" popup on my HP when I'm updating my Intel 7260/3160 wireless LAN driver for Microsoft windows? Something is amiss because I the HP assistant can't install the driver. I have windows 8.1

It seems it is all about HP so they would be the best contact for this issue.

EDIT:
Are you getting the driver direct from HP? If you are getting it from elsewhere, including one of those magic driver websites, then don't.
