Viewing attached photos in Yahoo Mail...

November 19, 2019 at 06:01:29
Specs: Windows 10, 4GB
I used to be able to click on the thumbnail of an attached photo in a Yahoo email (Preview) and the photo would enlarge so as to be viewable. Now I click on the thumbnail but the image does not enlarge.
Anyone know what's going on and whether this neat feature can be restored?
Thanks

Did the attachment open in an external program (which may now have been uninstalled or not associated with the file-type)?

No. This function seemed to be entirely contained within Yahoo Mail. In fact, when the photo used to open toward the right, you could still see the text portion of the email toward the left.
I installed an add-on to my browser (Chrome) that prevents Yahoo's annoying ads from appearing along a column at the right edge of the screen. Now I'm beginning to wonder whether this also prevents photos from appearing. I'll do a bit more research and post the results.
Thanks

Ad blockers to block popups and ads. on yahoo really annoy yahoo (Verizon). Inevitably they cause yahoo to restrict all manner of image content in emails - stop them even being seen at times, and certainly disallow full preview. Not sure if one can even download the content either due to ad block utilities affecting yahoo.

Verizon are getting really restrictive in what they allow with yahoo; and in effect even seem to be trying either to censor content; or at least restrict what one can send. They also disallow emails which are simply forwarding website address, which would seem to confirm that they now scan email content - regardless...

I'm not using Verizon. I'm using a laptop running Windows 10.

Verizon own yahoo... and. Verizon have made assorted changes to yahoo, and also are ceasing certain add-on services previously part of yahoo.
