turn Shadow Copy off without ending System Restore Points

July 3, 2020 at 21:46:04
Specs: Windows 10, i3 / 16gb
I want to disable shadow copy on my Windows 10 but leave the system restore on. Every other computer I've had didn't have shadow copy saving files to the "previous versions" tab automatically but had system restore backing up perfectly. On this 10 Pro, it's doing both.
Thanks

Anything here you can reverse engineer?

(not that I would do it myself).

I assume you are already aware of Volume Shadow Copy in "Services".

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

thanks Derek, well the problem with reverse engineering those and also services is that it also turns off system restore which I want to leave on while turning off shadow copy. Something very strange is I turned off system restore backups and it still is doing shadow copies. I just don't understand. I have another 10 with system restore on and there's no shadow copies made and can't figure out how to get this machine to be the same.

Does anyone know of anything in the system that makes shadow copies permanent?
