I have been trying to use the download of this file win10_mobile_offline_updater_v41 .wim and it chooses 7zip but then i get an error that its not a valid file format or something. Trying to upgrade my phone to windows 10 via this method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWW...

I know absolutely nothing about .wim files nor 7 zip... but had a quick trawl around the bottom of the duckpond to see what might be helpful here...

These two links "may" help point you solutions?

https://7ziphelp.com/7zip-cannot-op...

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...

One of them suggests trying other decompression apps as possible?

Thanks that looks handy but theres a lot in it that i dont understand. The only thing i can glean from it is to install yodot to repair the file?
The second link i couldnt see anything useful but this is not a field i understand much. It is extrememly rare i use an unzip program. I am mainly a linux user these days.
oh they are called decompression apps ok. I didnt search for anything else as i never know which is legit software in windows. Such an iffy world.
Might try that yodot as i downloaded the file twice without any good results

From where do you download the file in question; and have you tried a fresh download - and possibly from other sources as well?

websites which may have the required file(s)?

If you search the web using sat duckduckgo or google using:

win10_mobile_offline_updater_v41 .wim

as te search term/string you'll find a lot hits all about that file; the updater etc... Perhaps have browse/look-see at some of them; as they may help you better than I can. I don't use windows (in any form so I'm not the best source of wisdom for this one).

I'm presuming you have windows phone of course?
