Thanks in advance. I am trying to install apps offline on my desktop that I have on my laptop. The desktop at home doesn't have access to broadband. I get the appx files from https://store.rg-adguard.net/ that generate links from Microsoft Store. One such game that I am trying to install offline to the desktop is Candy Crush Soda Sage. If I try to install the game on my desktop it generates the error "App installer failed to install package dependencies. In this case I need the package " Microsoft.service.store. engagement" I see it as part of the generated links. So I downloaded it. It too was an appx file. I ran it, but still when I run the appx file for candy crush soda saga, it still generates the same error. So want do I need to do to get it installed successfully. In case of the appx files I have been double clicking on them to run the package. Clearly there is something I am missing. Other game apps that I have tried to install, they too require dependencies. Checkers Free, Cribbage Deluxe, Gin Rummy Deluxe, Hearts Deluxe and Microsoft Ultimate Word Games.

Hi Derek. I've seen that link that you provided. I would need a clear example of what to enter in powershell. Needs to be dumb down for me. I have the candy crush soda saga appx file on my desktop.
Need this rewritten cd c:\path_to_appx\directory & Add-AppxPackage “.\file.appx”
Haven't been able to decipher what goes where. The exact name of the file is Candy Crush Soda Saga.Appx

I have come to believe that today many installers do not download with all files needed as they did in the past but include just the basics and turn to online connections during the install to get whatever else is needed. This speeds up the download and eliminates the need to include all possible options during the install such as operating system specific files and dependencies that may or may not already be installed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Yes, without a doubt some programs use a small installer download which collects whatever else is needed from the net during the install.
