That looks like the longest gap we've had between Cumulative updates, although the holiday season is part of the reason.

I suspect Win 10 "out of the box" is relatively bug free now. Those with problems are folk who have upgraded from some Win 7 or 8. Definitely some mess ups there which I doubt MS will ever address.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Aha, I saw that one was due.

Just to finish off the chat about my rickety upgrade from 8.1 last year, after a full three weeks I managed to get it to run satisfactorily. I still get the odd hang (any program) but it's fair. As it turned out at least one of my issues was that MS had removed tweaks I had put in when it was running Win 8/8.1. I'm pleased to say I no longer have web page issues when using IE.

Maybe this update or others will fix some of the less important bugs.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I've soon found an IE bug in the latest cumulative update.

Put this website in IE (if they let you):
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/...

Click about with drop downs etc and it will soon stop working - won't even close.

Happens with all three of my W10s but fine in Edge or alternative browsers.

EDIT:
It's not much better if you go straight to the home page:
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/

The links don't work and after a short while Task Manager is the only way out.

I have no problem accessing either links. I browsed all the way down the Gravesend Weather Forecast page and back up again. No issue on my end from where I am in New York City.

Thanks for that but it's really weird. On all three of my Win 10s it works fine using Edge, Firefox etc but screws up within seconds using IE, particularly if you touch the drop downs on the right. No links work on the second link. What is also odd is that it was OK before the last cumulative update.

Looks like I've got to think of some setting in IE that is common to all three computers. Security is set to default so that's not the culprit.

If that's the only website that plays up I could obviously live with it - we shall see. If I stumble across a solution I'll post it on here.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I used IE11 from my Win7 box. Let me see if Win10 makes any difference. Stay tuned while I fire up the desktop in the other room...

Got it. It was "Tracking Protection > EasyPrivacy (using EasyList)". I guess I should apologise to MS now and assume it was just an amazing co-incidence that EasyPrivacy updated at the same time and blocked something.

Thanks very much for doing that check - without it I might have taken some time to be convinced it wasn't down to the cumulative update.

Off to disable it (at least) on the other two W10s.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Belatedly Added 29th Cumulative Update to List. Windows 10 Version 1511 (Build 10586) is very much alive even after Microsoft released Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) on August 2, 2016.

Interesting that neither of my three Win10 machines have had that anniversary update offered. Maybe UK folk will get theirs later. Having said that I'm happy to wait because it seems it has given a bit of hassle here and there.

Thanks for that. Must be "older computers" syndrome because none of the other apply.

However, on mine as from now, I've temporarily blocked updates as this is the only way to delay things in Windows Home. I can monitor the situation using other computers.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

LO and Behold my Windows 10 Version 1511 is now Windows 10 Version 1607. Guess what triggered the update while I was in bed sleeping? It is this 31st Cumulative Update (MSKB3192441) that also contain a new, sneaky feature called Upgrade Analytic. Below is more info regarding this feature:

I have thoroughgly checked all installed programs for incompatibility - there was none. The only thing I have to do all over again are edit the registry to customize Windows to my preference.

Aha but MS do let you use their computer too - after all you paid for it.
