My Toshiba C55-B5319 will not connect to my upgraded wifi 5.0. It only shows and connects to my old wifi 2.4. I've talked to my internet provided several times and they have even sent out a technician to look at it. They just tell me that my computer is too old to connect to it, but I just bought this computer brand new last year. Any suggestions?
As far as I can see from the published specs, it doesn't from the box support WiFi 802.11ac, which is needed to connect to 5 GHz. Have you connected a WiFi adapter that does? [Edit] That Toshiba model was released in 2014.

No I haven't connected to an adapter. Is that something I will have to get?
Yeah, your hardware is not supported for connecting it to the 5 GHZ.
