Screen on my Dell laptop is displayed off center

March 2, 2016 at 13:39:59
Specs: Windows 10
The page off center of computer screen. I've turned on and off my computer (laptop~Dell) and that didn't work. Of course computers don't come with manuals so that's why I googled it. I don't know where to look to fix it.

I seem to recall the if one presses and holds crtl+alt and then taps the arrow key (left or right depending on which way the screen has shifted) it may resolve it for you?

This method allows one to rotate the display as well; using either of the up/down arrow keys.

trvlr~ thanks but it didn't work. I tried it a couple of different ways, up, down, sideways. they only thing it did was move the text up & down, like using the page up/down keys. thanks anyway . . .

If you right click on the desktop area as is - do you see any option re' the display set up?

Also - what happens if you boot into safe-mode?

Incidentally try the method I suggested initially - but this time press and hold a windows key and then one of the left/right arrow keys?

If all else fails use Windows System Restore to a date before it went wonky.

That's assuming you have restore points because if this was a Win 10 upgrade MS turns them off without telling you.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Can you tell us what your son-in-law did? Always useful to know for future reference...
