Solved saving on E: = drive full, but lots of room left - Win10

January 10, 2019 at 04:52:07
Specs: Windows 10, 4x Intel Corei5 CPU 650 - 320 GHz
Trying to save worked-on files with Photoshop on 3TB E: drive = message "Could not save XXX.TIF on E; because the disk is full", although i have 1.45 TB free.
Need to save on D: (no problem) + cut & paste back to to E:.
Did the 'Software Compatibility Troubleshooting, and also cleaned my drive (just in case) = no problems/no difference.
Does anyone knows what's wrong with my (old) version of Photoshop7?
Other software seem to work fine.

thanks,
m.

That version came out in 2002, when drives were much smaller back then. It's possible it doesn't know how to handle a drive that large.

TSX, hi.
your explanation makes sense.
i'm having to save those modified files from E: now to D: which is itself a 1.6 TB. drive and this without any problem.
more of an annoyance than anything else.
thanks and cheers,
m.

If you're comfortable with partitioning software, you could try creating a smaller partition on the 3 TB drive.

Or you could create a batch file to move the files over to the larger drive. It would still be an extra step but simpler than highlighting, copying & pasting.
