Specs: Windows 10, I5
Hello, I once bought a 128GB SSD drive for my current laptop and bought a Windows 10 CD so I could install a fresh copy of windows 10 onto my new SSD Drive. I realized that 128GB is too small and want a new laptop and a larger drive. I plan to get a 256GB SSD Drive and a new laptop. My question is what will happen when I installed my Windows 10 CD that I already have onto my new Drive with my new laptop? Will it error that I cannot use it or will I be prompted to make another payment or something? Or will it just install since I did purchase Windows 10 and just wanted to use it for a new laptop and no longer use it on my old current one. Thanks.

For some odd reason, I can't get a particular link to post. Try copying & pasting the following into Google, then go to the result from EaseUS Todo Backup.

I'm afraid you are out of luck:

You may install one copy of the software on one computer. That computer is the “licensed computer.”

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

So it will just error during the install and prevent from installing? What if I use the CD key from my new laptop?

If you buy a new laptop, it will probably have Windows 10 pre-installed. Why not just clone to the SSD?

I am out of touch with the latest technology since it moves so fast. Is there software I needed to get to clone it or is it built into Windows? Thanks.
