reinstall my Office Home and Student 2010

February 15, 2016 at 18:30:38
Specs: Windows 64
accidently deleted my copy of Office Home and Student 2010 when I was cleaning computer files to increase speed of various operations. BUT, I still need this software and would like to reinstall the copy I had in the system (Windows 10).

If you don't have it on CD, the only way you can restore it is by doing a Factory Recovery which restores your laptop to how it was when it was new.

Backup your files to some other reliable storage media first.

If Factory Recovery doesn't appeal, only other way is to buy latest version of Office H & S and install that.

Not entirely clear if the software was part of the installation when laptop was bought/configured; was it? or was it Or did you download ot buy the software (from a legit MS source)?

Note that removing files has no affect on speed and leaves their registry entries in place. They are just sitting there being ignored unless needed. If you wish to remove software go to "Control Panel > Programs and Features". Only pick off files that are ones you put in yourself or you could screw up Windows.

You would be better off looking for programs that are running in the background all the time (Task Manager > Start-up) which can either be properly uninstalled, which removes the registry entries too, or worked manually from a shortcut instead. It is programs (apps) that use up resources.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
